Korrika is a transmedia project from the beginning. Above all it is a physical event, a race in favor of the Basque Language, about 10 days or so. 10 days in which the popular race travels town to town throughout Euskal Herria in favor of our language in a non-stop 24 hour race, in which participation is assured. Also, always begins and ends -both locally and nationally- with a big party in favor of the Basque Language. And there is no lack of events that add in parallel to it: Korrika Kulturala, Korrika txikiak, the diaspora activities, competitions, advertising, merchandising, web, social media, videos, songs … definitely it consists of several components.

Korrika is a very special and important event for the Basque-speakers, especially in the Basque Country but also in the diaspora. The emotional involvement is very strong. These factors and it multiple possibilities of development, we enable a highly fertile scene for the proposition of transmedia applications.

We started this collaborative work with the organizers of the Korrika, to propose different lines of work and proposals designed based on transmedia. These are the steps we have done with AEK and the trajectory of this development project Korrika-transmedia.
